Potentially crushing concerns that Harmonix would quickly fail to live up to its promise of weekly downloadable content for its upcoming Rock Band (PS2, PS3, X360), a huge slate of planned music has been revealed in the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine. Dozens of songs are specified, some to be sold individually and some in packs.

There will be available a Metallica Pack with three or six as yet undetermined tracks.

Upcoming music video game "Rock Band" will allow players to perform in virtual "bands" by providing up to four players with the ability to play three different instrument-based peripherals (a guitar peripheral for guitar and bass guitar sequences, a drum peripheral, and a microphone). These instruments will be used to simulate the playing of rock music by hitting scrolling notes on-screen.
