Und lars hat auch noch was zu sagen, zu Arhus

Hello from a beach in Mexico..happy easter. This is the Danish branch checking in(with a 'd'.. says the missus, without interfering).. I'm feeling extra Danish today.. Gas' (Gasolin', a Danish band) is playing on the iPod (Fi-Fi Dong, the name of one of their songs) and I want to share with the entire team that we have decided to make our day in Århus a Danish undertaking...drummroll, please... we have asked the great Danish bands Volbeat and Mnemic to join the fun the 13th of july, and they said yes, damn it.. so party on!.. cheers!.. it's all good... so it will be a totally Danish undertaking.. yeah ok, to hell with it... 'Tallica is only a fourth Danish (the missus suggests that now it's just an eighth and claims that pappa here is on half Danish, - haha, silly woman) but let us celebrate our Danishness where and when we can, especially when we don't come that way too often... so in other words, here is the short version: I am happy to announce that Volbeat and Mnemic makes the Metallica show in Århus the 13th of July as much a Danish undertaking as possible.

The band roared onto the stage with Creeping Death. Then, half way thru Bellz, there was some sort of power spike, and the PA system died. Nice little 20 minute intermisson. Power was restored, and the Roam tape came on. After the song, James said Lars needed to touch up his makup so he can look good for all his frienda nd family here tonight. (ha ha) After Roam, came Disposable, then Sanitarium, and now Justice is flowing thru the Aarhus air!

yeah, you're right!! but apart from the return of justice there weren't real surprises on this tour!!

i would have loved to hear a "never been played before song" like the struggle within!!!

you're definitely right..setlists are great and the show in vienna will rest in my mind forever!!...this is for sure still the best band on this planet!!! großes Grinsen

Metallica / Aarhus July 13

Woohoo! Another great show from the guys. Lars returned home to more than 50,000 fans at some obscure field outside of Aarhus - the second largest city in Denmark. Everyone were more than happy to welcome him and the rest of Metallica back to a triumphant show!

Opening with the classic Creeping Death, the band teared into an amazing set which included pretty much the best songs from Kill Em All, Lightning and Puppetz. We were also treated to a full performance of the title track from ...And Justice For All.

One of the hightlights of the show would have to be an absolutely amazing, goose bump raisin' performance of the instrumental Orion - a very fitting tribute to the late Cliff Burton, and played masterfully by Robert Trujillo.

Another highlight is always Master of Puppets - an instant hit with the crowd.

The band finished with a razor sharp version of oldies Whiplash and Seek and Destroy. After saying their thanks to a great audience, Lars gave everyone some amazing news for everyone to go home with: the band will return in 08 with a new album and a new tour. Fuck yeah! We will be waiting for you.
